Choral Director Wanted
The Gloria Dei Chorale is seeking applications for a choir director for the season beginning September 2024. We are an interdenominational Christian choir active since 1954, singing a wide variety of sacred and secular music. We have approximately 40 voices in the choir.
The position requires significant musical background and demonstrated experience in choral directing. Conducting choir and orchestra together is a requirement for the performance of major works. We also are seeking an individual with an active Christian commitment. A professional rehearsal pianist is engaged with whom the director will work collaboratively.
The group meets on Monday evenings at the New Westminster Christian Reformed Church on 13th Avenue in Burnaby from mid-September through mid-May with a break of a few weeks at Christmas time. Wednesday night rehearsals could be considered as well. We perform concerts in the late Fall and Spring of each year, as well as several seasonal performances in local churches.
